This plot device pretty much sets in stone that the alternate ending routes some people thought this would lead to is not possible.

It has to be in the same timeline, like a harem ending perhaps, cause alternate timeline endings would only mean the other girl's Matchmaking strings where severed.

Okay. He has already started to reconnect with the sisters in the new world, there is nothing that says they can't redevelope their relationship there.

In the old world Uryuu and Shirahi met again without the gods help. As long as their memories are not erased they should be able to stay close through their own decisons.
