not all strollers have babies in them, she could just have bought it or was using it to get groceries. MC assumed she has a kid in there, but I doubt he had time to really check while running away

it's dumb, but it's not that unrealistic if she's feeling pressured/shocked/indecisive about the situation, like she may feel like any sudden move might make the dangerous guy target her (like don't turn your back on a bear) or she just feels safer standing next to a cop , instead of running away elsewhere where another dangerous guy could be around.

With the way it was worded, that he released blood and the other gunk, it likely will have helped him, but he did say that even if it was drained he wouldn't live long.
