Well age gap is a thing but she's a high school student which is a minor, well no matter how wholesome love story is i just can't accept age gap with minor.

40?? Wow, I thought he was only 30. But well, since she's a high schooler, a 30 years old was already way too old for her. All being 40 does is put him firmly on the "old enough to be her father" category. Thankfully this is fiction so it's funny.
