Question: why is orange/tangerine a term for yuri in Chinese? Does it have anything to do with the series Citrus?

@youdontknowwho no it has nothing to do with citrus and I don’t know for sure why they’re called “orange” but I can assume it’s because either 1. Fruit are given as a sign of love and so it’s like no matter what fruit, if you love that person, you can give them any fruit like an orange. 2. I think it just might be the translation of just yuri LMAO but I don’t know for sure. I tried researching and asking my mom, but they never heard of it too. I think it’s also like a new slang for yuri or ‘girl love’ since yk China isn’t a big fan of homosexuality

@youdontknowwho okay sorry I came back to tell you the real reason why. It's just a literal translation so there isn't an influence to the word 'orange'. it just means a lesbian yk
