The general premise of this relationship falling apart is believable and "valid", and Makoto's side is complete and consistent, but I still don't feel like she understands what transpired.
What chores? What cooking? If you don't feel like it, discuss it, hire a person, eat out. Both of them are working, it's normal that they don't have time to cook or do all the chores regularly, and they should be able to afford to pay someone else to do it. The problem was always that she couldn't find the time for any form of intimacy - not only physical but also simply spending time together and bonding.
