if the red line of fate is bound by a person, bias can obscure their judgement. Or, a mechanical error, and they tie the string wrong.
if the red line of fate is bound by the world itself, an "inanimate object" shouldn't be making these calls anyways.
In other words, the red line means nothing.

Right? Her feelings and the build up seem to make sense. But the MC’s spent most of the chapter thinking about her “fated person” that it left me unsatisfied that we didn’t see much of her feelings for the true girl. Maybe that’s it?

Her feelings for the other girl are on display in the whole short, and the sensei basically spells it out for her at the end when they finally talk one on one.

For all her obsessing over her fated person she had gone and essentially been married to someone she loves and just hadn't realized.
