1- All of this is an experiment by a literal mad scientist.
2- Nadeshiko is made for a spesific purpose and appeal. She is a means to an end.
3- Everything they do is recorded, evaluated and used to futher the mother's agenda.
4- Akane is the perfect subject because she has the emotional maturity of a 5 year old and has almost no agency. Very easy to manipulate and lead by the nose.

The "mother" character completely undermines any genuine atmosphere this story seemingly trying to create. If you are seeing nothing wrong with all of this, you are as gullible as Akane.
