Elf girl basically says she atomized the guy and he came back because he has crazy regenerative powers.

Sword sister lops his head of and is like "lolz, done."

Then the other girl cuts him into a bunch of big pieces and says "no way he can regenerate after being cut up this much" even though she was right there when the elf said he survived being reduced to nothing by a massive magic blast.

and neither one are supposed to be particularly stupid. That's just dumb writing. It's like "well, the whole over-confident hero being surprised when the villain takes their big attack and lives is a trope, so we just gotta do it even though this has been written in a way that should explicitly preclude that."

I just assumed that the two girls weren’t listening to her when she said that because they were too busy with only focusing on the mc.

If he does, it has not been stated yet. The only confirmed effect he has on them is that they lose all reasoning when something involves him. And will do what he says as long as it doesn't contradict their desire for him.
