This flag has been raised for a long while now. The author is just trying to milk this series and once its popularity starts to fall she will drop an overdramatic plot that everyone saw coming.

I think the foreshadowing is for the ending, like a little dot of tragedy at the end of the series, it's slice of life manga and we are dealing with 'evil' deities after all

There's only so many chapters you can end that way before the big twist at the end becomes "and it turns out I was right :^)".
