You can tell something bad is about to happen if everything is happy-go-luck without dialogue. Especially if it depicts your day-to-day life.


I don't know what's gonna happen when his uncle finds out about his new sister/lover, though...

@BitterMatte: That's the uncle that ended up being saddled with taking in Yuu after everyone else in the family passed him around like a hot potato. Chapter 1 opens after Yuu's initial narration with said uncle being hospitalized due to a mysterious accident, which in later chapters we're given enough hints to deduce that he was trying to summon some eldritch entity, presumably Haru.

My guess after this chapter is that Uncle summoned Haru for the same reason that Yuu summoned Chiyo (wanted an older sister), and eventually Haru left him for some reason (perhaps the pact was temporary by design?), and after so many years Uncle finally couldn't take it anymore and tried to summon her again, only for something to go horribly wrong and leave him in a coma (I suspect the attempt failed in that Haru wasn't properly summoned, but it gave her an "opening" of sorts that allowed her to eventually manifest on her own later).

If this means she gets the fuck out and shacks up with the uncle I'm all for it, though it's more likely he's coming back and now there are going to be two unnecessary side characters. This is the kind of manga that benefits from minimal necessary characters, and while it's extremely limiting and hard to do, this manga should have stuck to it. I think characters/rivals like her are generally kind of annoying instead of beneficial. This was perfect when it was just the two of them.

@Yautja I do agree mininal characters do benefit a story like this, but I don't think the uncle or the dog demon (I forget her name) are going to be very beneficial to the story. From what I understand and predict, the uncle probably also asked for a big sister from the demon and got dog, and the look in his eyes when he woke to see her seems to be fear. So the uncle and dog are probably going to illustrate just how dangerous the demons are, and the horrors our Yuu-kun will face if he continues to play this game with his onee-san. But of course he will ignore the uncle and continue playing, and we will continue to get our story between the two.

@The_Smile It seems like they are doing something to hammer in what was also shown with Chiyo's flashbacks. If I had to guess, they mess up, or they start trying to mess with them in other ways. With Chiyo and Haru's declarations, it isn't unreasonable to assume that they would start changing their natural lifespan or what have you.

So... the dog girls taken a form of the uncles sister ? As for why or the specifics, we can only speculate. We know he was dabbing in summoning/ocult and got into an accident that put him with a bad mental illness in hospital. But its all still kinda vague what exactly happened.
I also havent forgotten, when the dog girl got introduced, she had planned to eat Yuu before her ass got beat down. So I speculate what shes doing with the uncle isnt something good.

ps- we all know whats going to happen to the MC, At worse he just looses his innocence... and viginity. No bad ending coming for him.

Or is it that his uncle has been through similar experiences with demons as MC and also referred to his summoned demons as his sister?

Haru waved her hand and the uncle woke up. Seems like she was causing his "illness". I think he is dying and she kept him alive.

This is really getting interesting. I'm usually a "slice-of-life" kinda guy, but I love what the mangaka\author is doing with the Lovecraftian vibe here,. as well as developing mystery.

Ohhhhhhh.
Theory Time: I think what she meant by her statement "god, demon nor good or bad" is that that uncle experience is very similar to our Yuu.
He also summoned a demon to be his oneechan but now he is dying and Haru become too attached to his "brother" and can't seem to let him go, with her magic keeping him alive somehow even tho that way is only causing him to suffer endlessly. And that's why he is kind of afraid her.
Also, she asked Sayo to cherish Yuu because humans life span is short. That'a what had me thinkin of this theory.

I think the uncle lost his family (including his sister, ripped photo? girl in photo look "kinda" similar) and tries to revive her. Summon doggo girl instead, doggo girl probably tell him she can't revive the dead, and he assume that there other that can and continue tries summoning stuff later on. Doggo girl fall in love with the uncle so she tries to be friendly by turn into the sister. which cause a fallout with the uncle instead. Uncle still try to revive his family and this is where Yuu come in.

either that or he the same as Yuu. But the contract was fulfill and she have to go back. When Yuu summon Chiyo, she slip through too.

edit: also all the bad end foreshadowing, the contract said he was to give up something he treasure the most, in which case, Chiyo was the most likely target now.
