In Japan, there's Hanakotoba, similar to English's flower language, the sunflower means admiration/to long for something, passionate love, splendor, adoration and 'I only look at you'.

im really confused is she a good deity or a bad one? what's her relationship with the uncle and is she watching over him or waiting to take his soul? is she planning to do harm to our mc and onee chan or just messing around?

Yeah it's a bit too optimistic to think that it alleviates sickness ("to make it less debilitating than it really is") and wards off malicious lesser beings, but for a mysterious yet wholesome manga like this it's nice to think about.
