I'm fine with combining them. Once a month is a traditional release schedule anyway, so everybody's used on it with plenty of manga.

It would be good development if Akkun realised his not-date with another girl made Hii-chan so concerned.

Hoping the MC see's that while he might not think it's a date Hii-chan does. He should be reflecting especially after his friend thought he was cheating.

Why should he worry about Hinako thinking it's a date? In his mind she doesn't like him that way.

Asahi is absolutely convinced from (over)hearing the words out of her own mouth that he was like a little brother, and then having that reinforced over and over by every time he starts to think that maybe she does like him getting some stupid "I thought he was the one that asked me!" (aquarium date that she asked him on) while then basically ignoring him in favor of his sister for the whole thing. He sees her letting the hot chick magnet classmate who is in no way hitting on her get close and even put his hand on her shoulder, then plays stupid games about going to the beach with him.

Hinako won't do anything but play games and drop hints on the positive side, and on the negative side comes right out and yells denials. She's even doing things like having him wash her underwear (trying to get him flustered) but he takes it as proof that she doesn't see him as a man.
