Actually... this is such an amusing predicament! I love that she's having to grapple with fandom culture as a normie since it's almost always the other way around. I also really enjoy how Seira misconstrues his feelings for Hinako because I guess she doesn't see them as romantically involved. The idea of having to grapple with the difference between "stans" (a form of idolatry in my mind) and romantic love just feels pretty new for things I've read at least

This manga taking the direction of putting stans on a pedestal is so weird to me. This is like putting idol otakus who buy multiple CDs and gacha whales as some sort of special and better breed of otakus. I'm extremely comfortable being a casual manga reader and buying a merch if I really vibe with a series/show. Turning my entire lifestyle around a single fandom is scary to me.

My intial (greedy) thought was Hinako would take the lesson about "apples and oranges" from earlier, and tell Seira "I don't stan him, I love him!"But that's only half of it; she's stuck worrying about if Asahi stans or loves her. She'll study on it. Taking a little time to reflect just defers my gratification. That's good too.

This is a kind of frustrating translation.
Stan is not directly equivalent to Oshi: the oshi is the target of affection, while the stan is the source. You can stan someone, which makes you their stan, and them your oshi. Saying that someone is your stan indicates that they are an obsessive fan of you.
