@Someguy, maybe like other people: to wine and dine the dead? Or to show off the wealth, or to ward off evil spirits, or the clay there got contaminated by food after first use.

What is funny how the villagers call this rapist traitor a thief. I think being a thief is his lesser sin of all. Thanks for the chapter!
