This is one crazy fucking mess of a story, but it held my interest all the way through! SO. MUCH. RAPE. So if that is a problem, don't read this. Even I'm sick of how often the MC gets raped by men who then decide to fall in love with him after the fact (eyeroll). Other than the frequent raping, this story is also pretty graphically violent. According to MangaUpdates the 24th chapter was scanlated 7 years ago, so I don't hold out hope that I'll ever get to read the end.

I'm rereading this and yes there's a lot of rape in this series centered around the main character, violence, but the story has merit with a strong plot. The translations are excellent, so if you want to avoid it you can. Just like @sunkissed said, it's been years since it was scanlated but who knows, maybe they did make it all the way through?! I'm hoping they did and will be checking back

Before Omegaverse, there was Animal X. It's much grittier than modern omegaverse, and the art is retro, but not in the way you'd think. I don't like this manga but it is a classic. The author's other manga is very different and much better imo.

Lots of trigger warnings for this one. Rape; coercion; victim-blaming; murder; child abuse; unwanted pregnancy... the list goes on.

I read this manga a long time ago and I wouldn’t say it’s a ‘great’ manga- I think the story is slow at times; the plot has the occasional hole; and some of the character motivations are confused.

However, it’s a story that sticks with you and the entire manga is a page-turner. The sci-fi aspect is really well done making this one of the most interesting sci-fi manga that I’ve read if only that I’ve never read anything with quite such a premise before.

The nature v human aspect and gender roles/ gender presentations in the manga is also quite interesting although none of these aspects are explored in much depth.

If you’re a fan of strange 80s sci-fi anime (a wind called amnesia; angel’s egg; escaflowne; please save my earth) then I think you should give this a try.

Too many rapes that make my blood boiled. But it has a compelling and heart-wrenching story that make me want to know the ending. It's been in hiatus for so long, but I hope some group will pick it up and continue the scanlation.
