Wow, I just found this and speed read through all if it in a few hours. Why didnt I read this sooner?! Super sweet with little touches of drama that dont stick around very long. But I can see some potential conflicts that might come up. I want them to come out as a couple before everyone teasing Shou about Umi being her mom triggers some kind of serious negative event. Because it seems like something is brewing in that regard.

well, i guess she's kind of looking over her in her own way? it's definitely pretty pushy and a little insensitive, but they don't know her situation with her parents so to them it probably just looks like she's being rebellious. i could be wrong but i think japan also has a strong family-centered culture and a sort of duty to parents. i think it's sweet that she's at least trying to include shou (into the "norm" almost of giving gifts) and give her some ideas, even if it's unwanted.
