Kinda explained on flashback, he got summoned, he train, and he got some kind of expectation or mission, and he failed.
Prob huge factor why he treated that way, maybe the whole country label him a failure or something

pretty much. Unfair to him to describe it as failure. Seems like a conscientious objection to me. I already like him for getting a taste of status and giving it up to not torment others as part of a war machine. The fact that he did that even when that other person was a GIANT FUCKOFF AUSTRAILIAN ASS SPIDER really drives it home. Makes isekai protagonist that exclusively save (or buy) cute girls look weak.

Not only that, but have you noticed that the guy is doing literally nothing but getting glommed on by the octopus woman? Why would I be calling the cops on the guy? He just wants to be a teacher-- he's putting up with her lack of boundaries.

Well, would that be set in a real-life-ish setting, argument would be more valid.
This one? Eh, fantasy world(with not yet stated morals)+basically interspecies relations? Too many hoops to jump through for a direct comparison, IMO.
Unless you view all fictional equivalent to real, in which case, god bless your unending fight for moral high ground, cus I won't.
