This is the kind of response I don't understand. If you hated it that much, why are you still here?
I didn't like the previous arc, but I didnt hate it so much that I would drop it, thus I am still here.

Whatever you say about it, you asking why I'm still here is functionally a defence of what we've just read. To me it reads as you saying, "It wasn't so bad I dropped it and if it was for you, you should just drop it". Sure, but I can also talk about how dogshit the reading experience was for that entire arc. Which is was. Just cause I didn't drop it doesn't stop it being incredibly sub par.

I can hate read through varying levels of bad writing, tropes, character decisions etc. for example I dropped Takamine-san 30 odd chapters in initially but hate read for the art since it's really that good.

Wait a minute, I recognize that character in the water that helped the mc, like I swear I remember seeing her in the background in one of the much, MUCH earlier chapters.

Edit:I went back and looked, and on chapter 2 pg 33-34(I can’t remember which page already…man my memory sucks) there’s this girl creeping behind a column staring at the mc in the background. Idk if it’s just a rando or actually that girl in the water.

That was almost 100% the spider girl, given she has a very similar hair style. Bangs and side bangs with long hair, though the length of the bangs isn't the same.

Admittedly, the timeline doesn't make sense, given she appears to arrive the day after. Maybe they decided to switch how they would introduce her?

The girl here has braided tails and her bangs are different, as we can more clearly see last chapter.
