After that whole debacle, this series just feels weird to read now. Like, something just feels off to me about it for some reason.

It was an exhibition device. Telling backstory and introducing a new character at the same time.

I'm actually kinda pleased she didn't already. She's clearly not well, given she let Washio pass the piggyback duty off to Alice.
I want to believe it's the result of the "negative energy" the old lady was complaining was draining people's vitality. A defiled sea temple would reasonably affect an octopus-girl first, right?
But I don't trust this manga to not be frickin' stupid, and haven't for a long time. I'm just here for monster-cleavage.

I expect Aria to launch some silk to catch him, Spiderman-style. Or would if I believed this story remembers she's a spider.
