Lol the same people that were shitting on it, while I was saying the progression made sense and Ashito was only adapting to being physically overwhelmed, are now calling it peak. Adorable.

I still think they have to lose the game. If they beat barca now they should logically win the whole tournament. But I'm glad they got to experience these few minutes of the future of the Japanese national team that will be led by Coach Furuya.

or you could pull a The Rookies ending.

i.e. win the game and use the epilogue chapter to shortly point out a heroic defeat in the next round, after which everyone moves on and conquers their place in football or something like that

could be but also, they can lose cause after a game of such caliber, after going all out, their bodies can callapse and not be ready for the next match.
