In my opinion, a more fluid system is better when you have players at the level Hansi Flick has. Still, this is more applied for when your team has the ball. Even Barcelona defends in a structured way.

Rigidly structured teams are better for less-than-stellar players. That's why we see a lot of teams that are not the top talent doing really well in the main competitions.

And we have coaches like Carlo Ancelotti that use both approaches, depending on the roster he has on his hands.

The mangakan has done a great job showing the tension one feels when a tight game with a lot riding on it feel reminds me alot of the last match in slam dunk hope the ending is better though.
