Narrator: He couldn't grasp it.

Jokes aside, I wonder if Ashito's attitude will change to how Kuri is right now if he could 'grasp it'. Constantly holding back. Couldn't demand 'more' from his teammates. Couldn't enjoy the moment like how he savor food on every bite.

Kuri couldn't enjoy the moment since he always move up and evolve, that's why he said he'd like to enjoy this match since this is the last time he's having a match against a highschool team. Your average player would experience these matches normally in a much longer timeframe, but not for a player far high above that constantly evolve. And we do know Ashito's a monster in terms of growing his football skill.

Kuri was restless during his debut as a pro (or was it NT?), trying to appeal his presence through showy moves. He's too hungry. And this unrestrained greed is something that Fukuda's afraid of turning to: injury. It's one thing to be injured after reaching the top, but getting injured during the process of evolving would destroy any young bud.

So it's not about whether he 'grasp it' or not, it's about what can be done to dampen any risk for both results. Physical risk (injury), and more importantly, mental risk (attitude and life outlook) are present for both result in Ashito's case since he always push too hard when left behind.

Now I wonder what 'not seeing Kobayakawa' implies here..

I don't really understand what to make from the fact that he didn't see kobayakawa and also Kuribayashi's reaction... Is he going in to deep in his on mind?

Thanks for the chapters.

I think Aoi was just focused on grasping the foundation of complete and scoring a goal to continue his streak so much so that he lost sight of his surroundings.

Aoi used to think there was only one way to score a goal until he was taught otherwise. He could just be reverting back to his selfish forward persona. Aoi always immerses himself in amazing matches maybe that's what happened here, he was enjoying himself so much that he couldn't pay attention to anything but that moment in time.

Either Aoi was to tunneled vision by his drive or he choose to ignore Kobayakwa and lied? That's why we see Kuri face pondering.
We seen that Aoi aimed at the goal, then he though that he is crossing and after that coach Fukada showed surprised reaction.
But it doesn't look like it was indecision, just no one could match the header in that region? If Esperion had Tripone it would be a goal?

Personally I think it was both, tunnel vision because of enjoyment, so Aoi didn't notice opposite flank assist and the 2nd best course of action was cross at goal where if they had Tripone like forward (remember Aoi analysed countless games of Tripone) that would be goal (and in case goalie makes a mistake it would also be goal, being distracted by forward).

I called it! This five lines strategy can go wrong really really quickly! But as the captain said, a counter after a fail attack is just the nature of the sport, my only concern is pushing the fullbacks to front while Tripone needs 2+ players to be blocked, same with the other guy. I have to be with Fuck-uda on this one, I too want to see how a broken limiter ashito plays, while those eyes look scary AF there's part of me that wants to see what crazy strategies he can pop out of that afro brain. As other users have already commented, It's not far off to think that he just had tunneled vision at the time he tried to score, maybe he's reverting to the mental state that he had pre-ESPERION (when he used to think that only he could score) or maybe as others have suggested he didn't see Kurobayashi as useful

Esperion is doing surprisingly well on defense, Kuribayashi is playing so damn well as a deep line midfielder, but if he starts to move up to attack, they're absolutely screwed, togashi is so useless wtf

It's clear that Aoi's value is in tactics. Not in thinking them up, but instinctually sensing and deploying them. I think being that deep in the zone will lead to mistakes, since he doesn't have the technique and I doubt his teammates will be able to keep up with all the possibilities he can see. It'll probably be a draw or a loss due to Aoi fucking up.

I actually think he legit just didn't "see"—he might've known where he was, but in this mind it wasn't the picture he saw.. He looked confused for a moment when Kuribayashi said it and had to reevaluate like

"Wait, oh, shit"

Like it didn't even occur to him that where Kobayakawa was located was correct
