Okay my thing is that Ashito literally has no prior proper coaching. Everything up until now for him has been him scoring goals and relying on instinct in order to do that. He's from a small town far away. This is a whole new world to him. I think Coach Fukuda saw this raw talent in him and genuinely believes that he needs to hone his intuition into a proper skill that can help his team score goals. He already has the seed planted, it just needs to be nurtured. Coach Date and that girl don't see his potential just because he hasn't reached it yet. Total bs. And btw, he was able to say verbally his plans just not all the way properly because it was his first time having to do so
