Lying to your players is a symptom of a lack of respect for the human beings you’re literally charged with raising
This isn’t a comment on the switch to fb btw; It’s a coach’s job to put their players in a position where they can succeed as much as possible and if that includes lobbying them to play a position that better suits them, then that’s fine. The problem is that he “never intended to let Ashito play Forward.” You can’t pull a kid halfway across the country without explaining that to him.
I’m not dense. I know that this’ll end with Ashito as a forward and this all be going according to keikaku, but it’s still shitty coaching that would realistically lead to some serious developmental issues for the player involved. It’s practically a betrayal of their trust, and once that trust is broken, their is no going back.
