Even a relationship with two people who care about and love each other can still be an unhealthy one. Which is exactly how she see's their relationship, and I can't really say she's wrong.

I agree and this is how I saw it as well after my initial rage typing.

I guess what got everyone riled up (including me) was how she worded her reasoning.
"I don't want to feel like I'm throwing my job away just because he's leaving."

Like... excuse me?
I digress.
You were on point about their relationship being unhealthy and it's good that it's only been 4 months into their relationship that she opened her eyes. I hope she goes out of area to expand her self and grow as a person.

sigh

Goddamnit, Aoko...

double sigh

Though... I have seen people do weird, destructive shit in the name of love and/or art. I know, in her mind, she thinks she's doing the right thing, that she's preventing him from doing something he might regret (and maybe resent her) in the future... And, shit, maybe she is and things will be all right in the end.

But... Aoko... His love for you helped pull him out on his darkness. You helped him get over his pain, his loss by letting him help you with your pain and your loss. And now you're ripping it apart. It's gracious of you to say it's possibly not forever, but you just broke this guy's heart after you helped put it back together again. If it happened to me... I don't know if I'd ever be able to trust that person again, no matter how much I love them.

I know that love makes you do silly things, but I really feel like there's some serious communication issues in this relationship. I hope they can sort those out soon, because they are doomed if they can't talk through complicated work life situations... and they plan to continue working together ....anyways, I'm still totally addicted to this. Thank you for your wonderful translation.

First, I was thinking - she's making all these good points! There's the production to take care of, and most importantly that she'd never be able to let him be away from her if they go together this time... And then... The most suitable solution you can come up with is to break up?! This is so frustrating and really feels like drama for the sake of drama. This doesn't feel like "oh I'm letting him go because I love him". This really feels more like Aoko isn't actually in love with him, she just kinda likes him but prefers the easy way out: no relationship, no decisions to make and be responsible for. Disregarding his feelings this way too. Pretty selfish and immature in my view.

And most importantly feels like her character development just rolled back all the way to the start with this.
Idk what to make of this chapter.

Thanks for the translation!

Aoko's line of thinking to that conclusion to break up has me wondering if in her mind Tatsuki equates to the beautiful vessels she wants to paint :/

Was like, she can't be thinking of braking up right, no way she will choose such a juvenile way out. And then the mug breaks and...

Yep, she is retarded.
EVEN IF, and that's a huge if, he will take all your BS at face value, do you really think he would want to work with you, like, ever again?
"turns out I was only liking you for your mugs. Oh, by the way, when will we do the next project?"

Thank you for the chapter!

First of all, I love her friend even if I can never remember her name lol.

Now that we've finally discussed the option of going with him, I can understand her reasons. The point of "if I go, I feel I'll never get over the anxiety" is interesting and probably true. And on the controversial point of not wanting to abandon her job, I can understand her. It's a bit selfish and at the same time not since leaving at this time would probably cause some troubles for the people she's working with. And while Tatsuki is willing to abandon a job for her, she doesn't really want him to. The fact she feels like that for her job is probably one of the main reasons why she refuses to accept that he would be content and not feel regret about not going to Finland.

But on the idea of breaking up... I get how she got there, there's a logic to it, but man, please, it's a stupid conclusion. Aoko, please, stop being emotional and extreme for five minutes and properly talk and listen to Tatsuki.

Aiight naw, fuck Aoko for real. And I don't really mean that, I do enjoy these characters and how well written this story has been...

...But this is verging on drama for the sake of drama. And a level of self-sabotage I hate seeing.

Seriously: "I don't want you to go, because of my anxieties. But also, I can't go with you for a bunch of reasons I just made up on the spot. But also, I want you to go, instead of you staying, we should just break up." Unreal selfish behavior with no consideration for what her partner wants or feels.
No amount of life experience in the world will stop anyone from making those far and few between rash decisions.

Tatsuki has already lost a loved one before, why else do you think he would be bending his back for aoko in such a situation, and all you can do is BREAK UP WITH HIM AND THERES A MUCH EASIER SOLUTION OF JUST GOING TO FINLAND WITH HIM.
Going to Finland isn't as easy as comics make it seem.

Idk what to make of this chapter.
Regardless of a character's progression, just like in life, we are all susceptible to the occasional rash decision. I wouldn't think that's a "roll back" per say.

So this is why they got together quickly. So that we can have the weirdest line of thinking from Aoko.
The mugs are more important to her than Tatsuki.
A huge project of which I'm a lead on that will hopefully lead to my future dream would definitely be more important to me than someone I've dated for four months.

What the heck is this rational thinking!? Love it!

I know it isn’t the same as being together but can’t ya’ll just FaceTime or text? 😭😅 Though seriously… I think since she knew that neither of them would bend, so she had to make the decision that would ultimately help them realize their dream (maybe at the cost of their relationship). I love that she brought up how their pottery style has helped inspire and grow the other’s. There’s something beautiful about wanting to become better because of someone else. My heart breaks at seeing Tatsuki be this vulnerable but I think my heart would shatter more if he kept staying in Japan while he kept getting international opportunities. the same could be said for Aoko…if she keeps going outside to feel less lonely while not being there to work on her life’s passion it would leave people with her responsibilities. I think it’s sweet twhen you‘re willing to skip an opportunity to be aside the one you love but I also think it’s commendable to distance yourself from someone in order to fulfill you and your loved one’s potential and dreams. I do want Tatsuki to and Aoko to come to a better solution together though.

I guess I was the only one that didn’t feel as furious with Aoko’s decision. Sure I was disappointed and sad with her idea, but I feel like the ending won’t end in a sour note. Hopefully it won’t be like some time skip and at the end and you just see them end up together in the final page but yea.
