I don't play violin, so asking out of curiosity? Is it realistic to expect an orchestra where some second violin players are beginners to win nationals? I know they have a lot of skilled, experienced players in other sections, but based on what I've seen in some beginner violin players in real life, I don't think experienced players can make up for beginner players if the whole team aims to win nationals.
