Controller have a generally overwhelming advantage at all level of play(pro play included, see ImperialHal) at midrange due to extremely powerful aim assist but, mouse and keyboard is much more mobile and better at short range scrambles and long range engagements.

Controller advantage being perfect aim assist at specific ranges can lead to frustrating situation where you get killed super fast by someone with 100% accuracy."

So everyone knows that it's really difficult to aim accurately with a controller in shooter games.

That's why those games usually give controller users a little help with fine adjustments on the target when you're aiming in their general direction. This is called aim assist.

In Apex Legends, the aim assist is absurdly overtuned, to the point that pretty much every competitive player uses a controller

idk if you're familiar with vtuber scene, but shibuya hal was using gamepad on apex (idk currently he is still using it or not)

I have no idea when was the last time you touched a modern FPS but a) plenty do because aim assist on gamepads is sanctioned aim botting on all "competitive FPS" which includes all the CoDs, Apex, Fortnite, and The Finals. Unless you're in like the top 10 percentile, you'll probably do better with a gamepad. And b) PoI tagging is really good and gets across most of the important situational shit as fast as yelling into VC and much clearer because you have an indicator on your hud.
