Indefinite hiatus is the worst thing to happen to a series. At least when it's axed you know it's done and don't keep thinking "Well, maybe it'll come back. It just needs a little more time..."

'Til this day, i still can't understand why do loundraw-san left this manga adaptation on hiatus (or even maybe dropped?)

If it's got dropped or axed earlier, i won't even mad. But the thing is, THERE'S ONLY 1 CHAPTER REMAINING TO COMPLETE THIS STORY. So i beg you loundraw-san to complete this manga, because it was more painful than being blue balled by a girl 🙏😭

Although the premise seems different, it ends up being very similar to the authors other, more well-known work 3 days of happiness. I don't regret reading it, but I would say it was less emotionally intense and more subdued than the latter. It has been a while since I read the other one though so maybe take my comparisons with a grain of salt, but I remember it did make me cry and felt like it had more emotional weight.

Edit: just checked and og story is 2012, 3days is 2013 and rewrite 2016. So it does make sense that 3days is similar but feels more developed and profound.

Obviously both stories have a clear theme of happiness and the value of life, and how said value is very often not proportional to the length of time. And additional themes about how a limited amount of time can allow one to appreciate life more. But I would say there is one important difference between the two. In 3 days of happiness, they know exactly how much time they have left, and to make the most of it. In this manga, they have no idea when they might die, only that it is inevitable (erm that applies to everyone 🤓) and likely sometime soon. Living and making the most of each day in the latter scenario takes a lot of courage, I think.

My main gripe is with the ending, particularly the last sentence of the penultimate section (126). I would have much preferred if that sentence and the first sentence of 127 were removed. Just checked the original (non rewrite) and it is basically the same ending. In my opinion stating the "final day" like some dun dun dun moment kind of dilutes the whole message of the story, and not just because "happy ending good." As I interpret it, the core idea is to make the most of every day, because life is finite (or more dramatically, you never know if it might be your last). Stating when their last day is defeats the purpose.
