So far I don’t see a lot of contribution from the main guy ourselves. I hope he is like Ainz, morally grey, but so far he hasn’t shown a lot of his skills nor that of a clear goal. Yes, the goal is to become a unstoppable kingdom but so far he is kinda lacking off a bit.

Well I mean, he’s filling the role of the player in an RTS, so it makes sense. He has his hero units to take more direct actions, but there’s a good chance he’s not really kitted out with any abilities to engage in combat or anything himself. Instead, his job more likely than not meant to stay as the eye in the sky, watching, planning and directing his units the same way he did in the game.
