They skipped so much in this arc. The battle against the asura candidate lady was a long chapter, and it was super suspenseful. It was a constant battle of him changing into different creatures and flying higher to get away from the realm demon. He wasted a bunch of points as well.

Fighting the saber elder was also a high suspense fight. I would recommend reading it, but I can understand why the artists are shortening this arc.
