It's an amazing manga. I would say, even better than blame!
Tsutomu-san is just incredible. I hope he continues drawing amazing pieces of art like these.

I think the overall feeling I have after reading this is that there's a lot of good things going for the story but at the same time the same things are undermined by other things. In particular I like the way our MC is limited by his resources in opposite way a typical MC. Instead of slowly building up resources he starts out with maximum bullets and slowly uses them as the story progresses which creates nice tension. This is undermined by the fact that while his goal is to win and he needs the bullets to do so his opponents isn't looking to waste the bullets since the bullets are also the mcguffin of their plans, the fact that the MC could have simply ended the story by firing into the air full auto is very dumb and could have been used to set up a more intentionally anticlimactic or bittersweet ending. I think if the story focused more on the game of one side trying to save and use the bullets wisely while the other tried to bait them out it might have been more thematic. Similarly I quite like the way the power system works with the winner absorbing the losers powers. But I would have also liked to see more exploration on what that actually means besides the anime fights. We get to see few of the interesting implications towards the end like how the empire shares their powers but it's way too late at that point.

The ending itself isn't that bad even if it's a bit cliche but everything surrounding the ending is lot lower in quality to what the bulk of the work is. The final few chapters feel incredibly rushed and things frankly just happen with the goal of just moving the story to the end as fast as possible once the ending sequence starts. The final fight in particular is just very anticlimactic and just lame.

It's probably worth it to read despite the poor ending since majority of the work is quite good and the overall length isn't hundreds of chapters either.

I really liked it but was really disappointed in the last 4 chapters and ending
Agree lmao, the journey is some what unique but the ending feel like the editor point a gun to Tsutomu and force him to finish lmao =))

Both side present their full force then just skip to the end of the fight where everyone die except MC =))

For the first forty chapters or so, its one of the best manga Ive ever read but forget everything you are hoping to see by the end. The author just kills everyone in what is one of the most rushed, anticlimactic endings Ive ever read for a manga that wasn't trash to begin with.
