Like I said in the previous chapter I don't get the vibe that Uguisudani was written as just another evil shoujo stereotype antagonist #305.

The scene where they're picking out accessories and Tabata picks weeds for herself and the way Uguisudani breaks from her rival mode just adds to my opinion. Despite Uguisudani thinking she's better than Tabata, it's not as low as how Tabata thinks of herself. She was gonna pick a flower or something that didn't suit Tabata but she wasn't gonna pick something so low as weeds.

There are monologues of her saying "I'll show you how different we really are!" and yet in Tabata's monologue she does have a perfect understanding of their differences. So again, it seems Tabata is thinking much worse than what Uguisudani's is expecting her to.

A lot of the comments that Uguisudani's development will come from Tabata but I think it'll work vice versa as well. Uguisudani helping with Tabata's self confidence, that she's not as bad as she thinks she is.

I like how everyone's a good person here, they all have their cons, but they're all good people. What a treasure!
I also hope those extras that hit on her trip and fall. You do NOT hit on high school girls, you creeps, let alone force their company.

I've seen the "kidnapping pick-up artist" trope so many times. I wish there was a manga where a girl takes the pick-up guys to a hotel, drugs them, and does revenge.

The idea that a couple guys can walk up to a girl, pull her out of her seat as she protests and then force her to go with them in the middle of the fucking mall is insane. Why would anyone right that in an ostensibly realistic story?

That actually happens more than you’d think. Some men genuinely believe that they should never take “no” for an answer because they think women don’t “really mean it” or they think the girl is playing hard to get. It’s super gross.

Oh I don't doubt that there are men like that. My suspension of disbelief was broken over the fact that these dudes could just walk up and literally attempt a kidnapping with almost 0 pushback from anyone around

I feel like people are overeacting to Sumire. Her methods at the very least weren't all that toxic or direct, and at least she's realized Tabata is genuinely nice. She still has her good girl image to maintain so at least that keeps her in check.

Those creepy dudes were too much though. Not willing to take a hint, and thinking you can just insult someone's friend and think they'll still have a good impression of you

There was a clip of Michi Mochievee talking about how when she was in Japan with her friend/s, there were these guys who pulled her or her friend's hands. It was midday in a crowded area and she was screaming in 3 different languages, but people just continued walking. Ig its just different in different places, before I would react the same (about the suspension of disbelief)* bc where Im from it would be a whole commotion people would crowd around or at least people would start muttering amongst themselves while staring, but now its easy to believe people would do stuff like this and others around would be too tired or scared to help

around 2:09 iirc
