I can't say I agree. This felt to me (and definitely to Tsubaki) like the chickens coming home to roost.

And I think it's helping them resolve their issues between each other, if anything. They have to, if they're going to present an united front and fight for their future together. It's the difference between declaring their feelings towards one another, declaring them to the outside world. Let Tadashi have his moment, eh?
