Did you make a thread in /m/ waaaay back with plans to typeset the VIZ translation on good quality, unflipped tankoubon raws?
I vaguely remember a couple A88 threads there like in 2015 but never found out what came of it.

I wonder if I could pitch it to some of the /ak/ peeps...

I don't think it's necessarily dead, just likely on hiatus or on hold. The last arc seems to be pretty difficult to come by, and finding someone who DOES have it that'd be willing to part ways with it (even just temporarily) for scanlation efforts may be even harder.

Well since Palmtop Scans release other Chapters for other series beside this; I guess this translation is dropped?
