Just curious as to why the translator gave Mousse a French accent. Girl was born in Londinium, Victoria.

Don't think there even *is* an obvious France analog among the countries so far known in the canon...

Many of the countries in Terra are either based on real world countries like Columbia which is based on the USA or mixture of them like Laterano which is a mix of the USA and the Vatican.

In Mousse case, she's named after a French dessert and was born in Avenue des Champs-Élysées, based on a real place in Paris, France. This means the Kingdom of Victoria is not only based on the UK but also France as well.

Columbia always read as the generic "West" to me (eg. Rhine Labs, named after one of Europe's most important rivers, is based there) as opposed to the more narrowly themed countries. Siracusa is unabashedly the Mafialand parts of Italy, Victoria doesn't much hide its Britishness (no word on tea and crumpets tho), Laterano seems to be the old pre-Risorgimento Papal States plus prolly the more functioning bits of Italy (though their religion seems to be mostly local), Kazimierz is blatantly the old Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Ursus is Imperial Russia (loosely, sounded like constitutional rather than absolutist monarchy) etc.
