I find that her eyes are striking enough that her glasses just end up competing for attention.

Was there are time jump after he left or she just decided for herself he is never coming back the next morning even after he told her that he will see her if he finds out? She could also have followed him... but I guess that if he didn't tell her to go with him she just stopped thinking, gave up and went to study martial arts, because plot.
