Convent isn't something for life with no return, she can come back if she wants.
For now was a good way to deal with this, getting out of sight and having space to think about things.
Anyway, I maintain what I said last chapter, Carla was dumb. Yes, she was in a big disadvantage with the whole village in the pay to fool her but even so, that was how she wanted to live her love? Just occasional secret love making meetings? She wasn't thinking about the future at all.

Two things I like in this chapter.
The way Angelo acted impulsively when Dacia talked about the job she missed. He is always the same from the beginning of the story, she acts that way on good will.
The other is Dacia. She wants to be "like Arte", but can't, she is different, she can't responder to things the same way, she can only get angry. The important for her was that even if her only answer was violence she didn't answered, she did something.
