I’m not entirely sure what the lesson is, or whether it’s a good one, but it’s an amusing journey along the way.

Personally, I thought it was horrible. I don't click with how the story views beauty, especially ugly people, and the boy(s). Makeup and fashion culture have a beautiful and an ugly side, and this was purely the wrong messages. Maybe it could've been passable with better execution. Cinderella stories have a minefield, and this rolled around in bombs without making meaning.

The author went on to write excellent stuff, so this was surprising.
