I do enjoy the mishmash of tone in this series.
Momo is the simpleton with the heart of gold, and without her I very much doubt Kotone would be having anywhere near the degree of happiness that she's currently (very begrudgingly) experiencing. But these "mysteries" that Momo is bringing before the two of them are wonderfully cute and wholesome (even if they get heavy to a degree in the emotional sense), and all the while there's an actual, super serious crime in the background that we're being drip-fed as Momo blindly bumbles along.
Makes me wonder if Momo will actually be instrumental in resolving whatever's going on with Kotone's family, even if not in an investigative capacity. Probably as an emotional grounding force for Kotone, if I had to guess, as it would seem that's her role for the most part at this point.
Thanks for the TL
