I was like "what did I miss? What's even going on?"
The author said in one of the ending pages a chapter or two ago, that she'd want to draw the two of them being lovey-dovey, but couldn't because of the plot? So, idk, maybe as a "ending volume bonus," it's this momentary wild change of a plot.
