So happy that I can finally read this to the end after reading & waiting for so long. While I know the ideal ending that I thought would be him getting together with Asako/Miyuki, turns out that wasn't the case. It wasn't a bad ending but just expecting a little more since he spent a long time searching for her & realizing that she was only his 1st love but also had a big impact on her life. For Miyuki being able to find a life she can be happy with is what I really wanted after suffering for so long than being found in a miserable state. I have no regrets reading this & glad they are able to be talks with each other for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately for the author, they're not doing too well health wise & is getting treated for their illness so I pray they recover. Thank you for translating this to completion & shoutout to Kirei Cake for starting the journey while also thanking @princess_daphie (hope you are doing well wherever you are) for contributing in the journey. Appreciate the translations.

Many thanks to the scanlation team, the raws provider, and the anonymous commissioner for these last two volumes; as well as Daphie, and all of the other scanlators, who brought us the prior volumes of this series.

I felt the tone became too lighthearted in the last two volumes, resulting in the ending feeling a bit flat, but this has been an enjoyable series overall.

I'm really happy the protag managed to make a life for himself, even with the specter of his first love always hanging over him. I was a bit afraid it would go a different direction but just happy everyone was able to find something for themselves in this story. It's nice to see all these tragic elements not add up to misery in the end. COULD be the spirit of the holiday influencing me here tho.
THANK YOU FOR TRANSLATING AND FINISHING THE SERIES! Happy holidays everyone.

Perhaps it was a bit too idealistic or happy, but honestly, I liked the sensation that a suffocating past had been fully removed by the end of the story. Everyone moved on and changed, and those that changed for the better reached out and helped out those who were still stuck in dark places.

Honestly, after all the years of shit that Miyuki went through, having her become such a well-rounded, decent person and basically shedding her whole previous persona as a femme fatale was wonderful.

What a satisfying end. But Asako really looks so much older! Like Masa looks like he’s in his twenties but girl looks like she’s in her 50s or something. And with how long the translation process took, even I lost my sense of time. So glad I managed to finish reading this series.
he's 34 and she's 50 when they finally meet again. 23 years later after that summer.

Yes thats the point it was obvious from the getgo and imagine trying to build a relationship based on an idealized past. Many idiots in the comments referring to Miyuki by "Asa-nee" are inadvertently proving my point clinging onto the cope and fantasy. It simply never was happening.
Yeah the theme really was growing up and letting go of the past, I would've loved to see a GILF ending but I understand why it didn't.

I liked it!

Everything is discovered and resolved. Both parties grew and moved on. Wholesome 100 and a huge upgrade to where I thought it might go (her actually being dead and him making peace that some things wouldn't receive an explanation).

I'm satisfied with the ending. Feels rushed, even if the the release of the chapters were regular that will prevent me from reading everything in one go. No complaints, though. Ending feels good.

P.S. I actually expected Amano to get it on with that one kid.

Thanks for the translation!

What a journey it was. Found this manga some two and a half years ago and I'm happy that I got to see it to the end, as I've always felt a special connection to this. I'm happy that the characters got their happy and hopeful endings even if I never thought it would end the way it did, it was still a good one. Even as I really hoped to see more, especially between Masashi and Asako/Miyuki.

Definitely will miss this manga as it joins the others I miss as well in the completed library.

Thanks to everyone that worked on this series to bring it to the readers

Many people shitting on it because of the ending, but I felt like it was grounded, giving closure to the MC to move on with his life, not only that, but he managed to connect back with people from his past thanks to this wild goose chase

Overall, a great story with a good ending

I'm super satisfied with this ending. A down to earth confrontation between adults leading to ginger closure and realization. A tale about growth, the constant movement of life, and only having one side of a story. I really wasn't expecting much else. The individual only sees one side of another's story. The one we saw or heard from our own experiences. Everyone lives there own life, either built up or broken down, though, not always remaining constant. One expected to do great things does not always. That also goes for the opposite. Life moves on and so do people. Some end up worse off, others end up making the best of it. That's what I got from this story. There doesn't need to always be a climactic ending or a dramatic plot twist in life. Life just...happens.
