So the conflicting deaths are multiple reincarnation cycles, likely many timelines? I hate that explanation and how it was accepted with no contributing evidence. The fantasy side of this isn't a mystery in the end, it's rule of cool. Which is a let-down considering how mysterious it has been framed. Maybe it's my expectations are too high when stories that use this past life romance schtick have almost always been pretty thin for anything other than present-day.
