I did half-seriously think one option this'll go is ship the demon queen's generals with the hero's party when all of them first showed up.

Wasn't expect it to turn into love triangle with the mage/archer/cat tho.
Or that the archer x mage pairing was there since before.

Wasn't there a 4th member to the hero party? I wonder where's that one now.

Edit: but in all seriousness, maybe it could be blocked because their last moments were traumatic. like the same reason why kurose doesn’t remember a lot of her life besides some small fragments of memory related to the artifact while her generals(?) do remember quite a lot to the point they know how they studied magic back then, and like how momomiya doesn’t seem to know how she died (yet).
