LOL even if you can pay for someone handsome/attractive to pay attention, i think a 'rental' boy/girlfriend would be more appealing for ppl who want one on one time, or if you're not extroverted yourself, b/c alcohol aside, a host club environment seems too 'party-like' for my tastes (versus that old ouran host club anime series but that was def shoujo-ified even tho there were some good serious moments) , not to mention the 'competitive'-ness where ppl would straight up go to other tables versus a scheduled appointment bc other than an emergency i imagine most 'rental bf/gf' dates wouldn't' be cut short

I found this manga after watching The Great Happiness Space: Tale of an Osaka Love Thief and it hurts to see how accurate this portrayal seems to be.
