The joke here is actually about Olivia being a mixed-race, since the sweat is a bit different. Blacks smell the most, while Asians smell so little they often don't use deodorants at all and still feel comfortable, and Europeans are somewhere in-between. So Japanese-born and Japanese-raised Olivia was acting like a proper Asian while having European armpits.
