@Dezaki Melida is quite impressive in comparison considering she has had her mana activated only for weeks, while Elise has had for years. I also have a feeling Melida will receive much more effective teaching, so her growth ought to be relatively faster. Elise's progress is partially rendered less effective by the horrible people around her, especially Othello, so her edge for having the superior Paladin class is somewhat reduced. It remains to be seen how effective Pudding Brain is as a teacher, especially when supervised by that ogre Othello.
