no, not really, the title was just right.
it's a tie-in manga for the new game that's just been released. (according to wiki.)
the original title of the game which this one uses and borrowed the title from is "あつまれ どうぶつの森" (atsumare, doubutsu no mori), hence the translated title. (tho' if i were to nitpick, it should be forest there, not crossing. _{(i'm sorry translator, i'm really not picking a fight)})
and since it's tied to the new game, the title written there was just right, the english equivalent title for this would probably be... Animal Crossing: New Horizon... relaxing island news(?), probably... _{(no, well... it could be wrong since i'm not in any way proficient in moon runes)}

tl;dr: basically, it's not just animal crossing, since otherwise this could lead to people mistaking it be tied to the other game from the same franchise... If ever they think so and even care for it.
