I'm surprised that Yokoi asked himself why she's living in a shabby apartment. She just said she can't afford counseling and is paying her exes to come over and have sex with her, she's got obvious material constraints. She's here for the same reason you are, dawg
I saw that there are already four two comments and decided I wasn't going to read them.
This is all serious business, heal human issues, depression, suicidal ideation...
But I bet y'all just want porn.
Porn is everywhere. Just go read it..
It's interesting to see her reaction to this woman vs the woman at the hospital.
Meanwhile, I wouldn't rule out sex in the future but there is nooooooooooo way they should have sex now. The complexity of why she's asking him is a little too involved with her disorder right now to be coming from a safe and healthy place.
Also, sexual addiction is legit. I know we often make jokes out of it and never take it seriously when people say they have problems like that but if you look at the people who admit to it, this shit fucks up their life. Look at that rapper (or was it football/basketball player?) who came out like "Yes, I have a sexual addiction problem" and how much money he blazed through and how many relationships he hurt and wrecked. Dude was fucking miserable. I know it's hard to feel empathy for people who fuck all the time when a lot of manga readers are often made to feel bad or like they're lesser for not having had sex but this stuff is real.
I just wanted to note that pg. 20 made me spurt coffee from my nose. Thanks, Saitou.
That aside, I think the answer to her inquiry is better left hanging for a few more (manga) years or so.
It’s estimated that 1 in 5 adults in the United States suffer from a mental illness/disorder each year. The most generous estimate I’ve seen is that 50% of humanity will experience a mental illness at some point in their lives.
Honestly, it’s not THAT unusual to see multiple people who have some kind of mental illness together. Particularly if they are living in a poor area like these apartments.
@cunge I'm not sure what you would cite as evidence of his romantic interest in her. Other than the whole "Harry Met Sally" question of whether men and women can truly be friends because sex is always lingering within the background, the only potential evidence of interest in her that we've seen is the amount of care and consideration he's given towards her. Now, I've looked ahead
and they definitely do appear to have a more than "just friends" relationship that develops
, but from what we've seen so far he's not made passes at her, tried to peep or do anything untoward in her presence. The most we've seen is that he's divulged his fetish to her at her insistence, the reaction of which was uncomfortable for them both. It would be fair to say that if she has romantic interest in him, he hasn't been clear in his own feelings as yet. So, maybe some actual development on this in the next chapter.
