I think that's an infesting issue in, quote and quote, "harem" genre. Side girls just there to accentuate the main girl that are author's favorite. Any competition is illusion.
Not saying this is definitely one, but this feels like one to me. And that's tiring.

Yes, but he is kind of a golden ticket to life with wealthy parents and some political influence, plus he is a decent person and a handsome young man with (hopefully) working reproductive organs. And she doesn't have any actual feelings towards MC either, it is the same infatuation she had for the boy. Or the Hero.
Anyway, what is done is done, she is part of the harem now.
