Yeah, she's a bit of a forced rival. Couldn't she just stay loyal to the noble boy? Not every female character has to fall for MC, especially in such a half-assed manner.

It's pretty obvious from the very beginning she never actually loved the noble boy she just wanted him because of the kindness he showed towards her, that's it

I think that's an infesting issue in, quote and quote, "harem" genre. Side girls just there to accentuate the main girl that are author's favorite. Any competition is illusion.

Not saying this is definitely one, but this feels like one to me. And that's tiring.

Yes, but he is kind of a golden ticket to life with wealthy parents and some political influence, plus he is a decent person and a handsome young man with (hopefully) working reproductive organs. And she doesn't have any actual feelings towards MC either, it is the same infatuation she had for the boy. Or the Hero.

Anyway, what is done is done, she is part of the harem now.

I dont get it. MC was pretty much used by his wife and daughter to the death. But he blames himself. He basically a dream man for a lot of modern women. Provides and wants nothing in return, takes blame for not providing more, ignores wifes cheating and daughters disrespect . And in isekai world he decided to be even more usefull? Wut? I hardly ever saw a character in more desperate need of some balls. At this point asshole hero is closer to be a normal human being.
