There are a lot of modern era regression comics in an artistic field out there that are pretty alright, but don't quite capture the proper the feeling that one imagines while operating in that field. When it comes to works like this there is a lot of weight in capturing that feeling, because otherwise the story feels hollow. This one I feel at least earns the 8/10 rating it has as it very successfully captures that feeling while also nailing other good storytelling principles. I think for me it hits an 8.5/10.

We have an MC who reincarnated thanks to the powers of a spirit with clearly ulterior motives, but their relationship isn't one that would be considered antagonistic as in a lot of ways it is a symbiotic relationship they have. We have one of the best rivalries I've seen in a long time as his rival is competitive with him in an incredibly healthy way that causes both parties to grow. He even experiences some serious obstacles like difficulty getting into a role due to having no experience with a set of feelings. The pacing and flow of the story feels solid overall. The writer feels like they have an understanding of what it is like to learn to be an actor, and builds a conceivable path to becoming one as a result. The side characters all feel like real human beings too with their own motivations and goals.

Honestly, I have a hard time coming up with criticism about this. Perhaps, the biggest thing might be the MC himself is not the most incredible I've seen. He's not a bad MC, but he's not outstanding either. However, at the same time I do have a hard time thinking up any improvements for his character. It's just he feels a lot like many other MCs we've seen before. Which isn't bad per se, but it doesn't really give any points in the story's favor either.

If the quality of this keeps up I'll probably bump this up to a 9/10. I just don't think it has the power to push to that 10/10 masterpiece status (that's really hard to achieve though I think in my over 900 bookmarks here I have maybe a dozen 10/10s and some might not fit that bill in hindsight), but this is overall a very good story, and I highly recommend this.
